Who are we?

The Whitehall Choir comprises around 70 enthusiastic, talented and friendly singers of all ages and backgrounds. We perform at least three major concerts each year with professional soloists and orchestras, plus a Christmas carol concert. We also enjoy a regular invitation to undertake carol singing at The Ritz Hotel. As well as a busy concert calendar, we also have a lively social wing which gathers in the local pub after rehearsals.
Visit the About Us page to read more about the Choir.

What do we sing?

We sing a wide range of classical choral music, from baroque to contemporary.

Recent concerts have included Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Handel’s Samson, Rachmaninov’s Vespers, and Bruckner’s Mass in E Minor. We perform at various top London venues including St John’s, Smith Square; Cadogan Hall; St Paul’s, Knightsbridge; the Royal College of Music; and St-Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square.

Key events in 2007 are a performance of Bach’s recently reconstructed St Mark Passion (Easter 2007) and a tour to southern France (May 2007).

Every year, we plan to have a workshop day for members. It is a chance to sing smaller part songs and secular pieces, to take part in vocal coaching by a professional singer, as well as to socialise with other choir members. The Choir also hosts come and sing style events which are open to the general public.
